Why can't I see an Image?

1.      The doors on the orange safety box aren't ALL closed properly.

2.      The microscope is not on "C".

3.     You are in the wrong focal plane; try refocusing your specimen.

4.     The Laser is not turned on (check both power supply and control panel are on).

5.      Gain, Iris or laser power is not high enough.

6.      An epifluorescence filter cube is in the laser light path.

7.      The microscope knob is not properly clicked into the "C" position.

8.      You are clicked on the wrong icon eg AF488 instead of AF543.

9.     For UV only - you are using an objective that does not transmit the UV. Use a "Fluor" objective.

10.  DIC analyser ("A" slider) is not pulled out.

11.  Objective nosepiece is properly located at a click stop.

12.  The wrong dichroic filter blocks are in.
