Centre for Microscopy, Characterisation and Analysis

CMCA User Registration

Through this page you can register to become a CMCA User and gain access to the facilities and instrumentation at Crawley, QEII and satellite sites.

Registration fees and charges apply and vary depending upon your status and needs. For UWA, Edith Cowan and Murdoch researchers and students, a schedule of costs can be found here. For all others, contact the CMCA office to find out what access arrangements are best for you.

In 2009, a new registration process has been introduced for researchers wishing to access facilities in the CMCA laboratories on the Crawley campus, at the QEII Medical Centre or our satellite sites at RPH and BBCS.

If you were a CMCA registered user in 2008, you will simply have to complete the online registration form, supplying your details, your supervisor’s details (if you are a student), information about your project (including uploading a file describing your project) and samples, and information about how you will pay for your CMCA access. To ensure that you do not lose access to CMCA facilities, please complete the form at least two weeks before your registration is due to expire so that we have time to process the payment before your 2008 subscription runs out. Once your payment has been processed, we will continue your registration.

If you were not a registered user in 2008, you will need to complete the ‘new user registration’ process, which will include you providing details about you and your project through the online registration form, meeting with key Centre staff to discuss your project and completing an agreed training programme before gaining access to Centre facilities. Most of the training will be conducted through the Centre’s regular training courses (for which dates can be found on our web site). Please submit your registration form well in advance of training courses so there is time to complete your meeting with Centre staff and agree your training programme in time for you to be allocated a place on a training course.
